Gloster Gladiator
Scale: 1/32
Manufacturer: ICM
Parts used: Out Of The Box
Main paints used: Tamiya and Xtream Metals
In part one, we work on the cockpit and fuselage
In Part two, we add the harnesses to the seat and install the cockpit. Next we work on the tail plains and upgrade the tail spare with a brass 1mm tube, then install the wings.
In part three, we use Mr Surfacer 500 to fill some minor gaps before starting work on the engine. We used Mr Hobby SM204 Super Stainless 2 for the main engine colour and withered it with a wash of Abteilung 502 Smoke. The copper exhaust was with Mr Metal color 215 Copper.
In Part four, we mask the canopy with Tamiya tape and then move into the spray bay to prime the Gladiator with Mr Primer Surfacer 1000 thinned 60/40 with Mr Color Rapid Thinner. Next we paint the Tail and Tail planes with Tamiya LP-6 Blue before making up to spray on the Silver look with Tamiya LP-11
In part five, we move out of the spray bay and start on the decalling and then work on the wings and making sure they are in the right position and square on.
In Part Six, we paint the wheel hubs Blue and the unmask the canopy before starting on the rigging ( yes I know the rear starboard attachment point is in the wrong place I have now corrected that ;O)
In the final part, we finish off the rigging and paint in the turnbuckles and rigging with a sharpie pen and the silver paint. Next we install the Y shape antenna to the top, then it’s a very light weathering with the Tamiya weathering set all ready for the final reveal.
